On Wednesday morning, November 2nd, the Lord sent us our Special Delivery! She was 2 weeks and 2 days early and we had just barely converted the office to a nursery - although it wasn't completely finished. At my OB appointment, the OB advised us that we were unlikely to make it to our due date (11/18) and, sure enough, we didn't. Nana Hopper arrived on Sunday to spend the week with us, thank the Lord! On Tuesday, after doing preschool with Zack, running errands with Nana and the kids, and hosting home group that evening, I ended going into labor that night!
After 2 hours of worsening contractions which started around 1:30am, we headed to the hospital. This is the first time that I've actually "gone into labor" and I thought it was awful! Once I got my epidural, things went very well. One of my 1st nurses was a L&D nurse that I knew at Riverside Hospital from Residency - nice to see a familiar face. And then the OB who was on the next morning turned out to be my least favorite - but he wasn't available because he was in surgery! So the OB that I saw last week came into delivery me. Yay! God takes care of the details! After about 15 minutes of pushing and not needing to have an oxygen mask on me, our baby arrived! Dr. Lempel laid the baby on my tummy and left it up to me to figure out the sex ... It's a girl!
So glad my mom could join us for this delivery too!
Dean's Mom was with us again also!
We named her Eliza Grace, short for Elizabeth which was Julie's middle name and the name of Julie's Granny. Eliza Grace will be a continual reminder to our family that our Heavenly Father loving lavishes us with unmerited favor, in that while we were sinners He saved us through His Grace.
Even though she was only in the hospital for a total of 28 hours (much to mommy and daddy's delight) Eliza entertained many visitors.
Autie Lacey, proud mother of 4 herself
Sarah Sipes and Cory Wise, dear friends from our Church home group and MOPS
Big brothers Zachary and Jacob
Not the baby anymore ... Lydia Martina checking out her new sister
Finally Great Grandma (not pictured) and Jerry closed out visitor's hours on day 1
Many thanks to all those who have stopped by to visit, brought us meals, showered us with gifts and encouraged us with your prayers.
Feeling very blessed - The Milnes

Thank you once again for the extreme blessing of inviting me to watch the birth of Eliza. I will never get over the amazing miracle of the birth of a baby-to God be the glory. Have so enjoyed being a part of the Milne household over the past week as we settle Eliza into her new family and surroundings and am looking forward to spending more time with all of you next week.
