After 12 years of marriage, my husband has come to expect birthday presents, birthday cards, cake - the works. Because that's what I do. I've come to learn that he doesn't really care about all that. Which is good. Because this year, I have no presents, no cards and no cake. I'm hoping to have a happy heart though and a home-cooked meal instead. And maybe a clean dining room to eat that meal in. (I didn't intentionally leave those other things out, I just couldn't get to them...) I'm pretty sure those things would make his day. And while I'm at it, I'm going to finally publish this blog. I wanted to add some more pics to it, but I'm having a few technical difficulties and don't have time to deal with them. (Because I've got to tackle that dining room...) I'm so glad to have spent the last 12 years married to you, my love! Here are a few memories...

We celebrated 12 years of marriage on 12/29. We don't usually exchange presents, but we almost always do something special. This year he arranged for my mom and dad to watch the 4 "bigs" for us overnight and surprised me (and Anna) with a trip to Charleston! For those of you who don't know, Charleston is where we met, fell in love, got married and spent the 1st 6 months of our marriage! So many sweet memories!

| This is not where we stayed on our wedding night, but neither of us could remember the name of that B&B! |

We were blessed 38 years ago when God sent us Dean as our son and 12 years ago when He sent us you as our daughter-in-law.
