Pumpkins!

My sister-in-law started a tradition 2 Octobers ago when she taught Pumpkin units in preschool.  So when we bought our pumpkins this year, both boys wanted to know when we were going to Lacey's to carve them!  Yesterday, when Jacob was done with school, we headed to the Cousins' house with our pumpkin for a lesson on pumpkins.

We measured the pumpkins and counted the "ribs".

We made pumpkin charts.

Zack reminds me so much of his Daddy in this picture!  He's studying our chart.

We picked up each pumpkin and tried to guess which one would be the heaviest, then we weighed them on a scale.

We cut open the pumpkins and scooped all the seeds and pulp out.

Then we counted the seeds.  Each square on our table had 10 seeds each and with 450 seeds, our pumpkin had the most.
Homework: Jack-o-lantern done!

Being a part of all the pumpkin activities got me all ready to come home and get ready for the base Halloweem party tonight. Thanks for a great couple of days of fall fun. Love-Nana Milne
