Hanna Aftermath

For us here in Newport News, Hanna was not a big deal. We watched the weather reports all morning and waited for the storm. ... Pretty much nothing happened! That's good because I really didn't want to lose power (or anything else), but sad because I had really expected more.

But in Haiti, they are still reeling from the effects. I found this new article by the AP Press on Gonaives, Haiti where Dean's ship off-loaded supplies: http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gDm7lRAjdXWzCH-GDsdZvbReCqCAD931G6B00 .

If you look at the picture in the article, you can see the water bottles that the LEGARE brought in. I'm pretty sure the ship they refer to is the LEGARE! Here are some pictures that another crewmember's wife emailed out.
Look at the pier conditions! How steep the ramp (there's another more proper term that I just can't think of right now) is that they had to move supplies over! And all the supplies they off-loaded! WAY TO GO LEGARE CREW!

Tell Deano that I love reading what all he and his friends on the Legare are up to. I think it's great that they are able to help people who are suffering in the aftermath of the recent hurricanes. Thanks for sharing. Love you! Sara
