We were behind a public transportation bus today on the way to the playground reading his sign about the Virginia Poison Center and their # for emergency poison situations. I thought, hmm, that's a handy # to keep, so I programmed it into my cell phone. I should have seen where God was going to be leading me today, but I wasn't paying attention. I was going to the park to meet my friend Carlie and her 2 little boys. There's a little nature center where the boys looked at snakes and turtles. Then we went to the playground where Zack showed no fear on any of the slides, but had to be rescued twice. Lunch was overlooking the nice pond. All very fun and relaxing. Naps were next, then cleaning the bathroom. The boys were very curious and interfering, but I finally was wiping the counter off and turned around to find Zack sucking on the end of the Lysol spray bottle! I put him under the faucet and tried to flush it out - he didn't much like that! So then I thought, hmm, I should call Poison Control and make sure there's nothing else to do! They were very helpful, despite getting cut off twice (my phone died, then Zack disconnected us). I got the same guy back on and he took my info and put me at ease. During all of that, Jacob's walking around with a t-shirt and cowboy boots and nothing else. Here he is with Zack after Zack was rinsed off.

Ah, yes, Poison Control!
Our first call, David (about 2 yrs. old) ate some of those little sylicon gel packets you find in shoe boxes-- the ones that say "do not eat." Second call, David again, about a year later, when he sucked down half of an infant tylenol bottle when the top was off and I was administering it purposefully to Catie. Yikes!
so what's the cure for LYSOL poisoning?
=)
Laura, what are those packets for anyways? THose were in the boys new backpacks I just bough and I was thinking about them!
Mar, I guess flushing with water works, b/c that is what I did and he didn't tell me anything else to do. And Zack is still doing well a few days later!
